FAQ · St. Louis, MO

Questions, answered.

What to expect when you work with a veteran-owned, woman-owned general contractor in St. Louis. If your question is not here, just ask.

Where do you work?
We are based in St. Louis, Missouri, and serve the St. Louis metro and surrounding communities. For federal set-aside work, we can discuss projects beyond that footprint depending on scope.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Commercial construction and tenant build-out, federal and set-aside work, residential and community projects, and home services and repairs. If you are not sure whether your project is a fit, reach out and we will tell you straight.
What does SDVOSB and WOSB mean for my project?
We are a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and Woman-Owned Small Business. For federal agencies and prime contractors, that means we can help you meet small-business and set-aside goals while delivering quality work. Federal registration details are available to contracting officers and primes on request.
Are you licensed and insured?
Missouri does not have a single statewide contractor license; requirements are set locally by each municipality. We pull the permits your project requires and work within the rules of the authority having jurisdiction. We carry insurance appropriate to our work, and bonding capacity is available on request for projects that call for it.
How do I start a project?
Send us the scope, the deal, or the requirement through our contact form. A member of our team follows up, we talk through what you are trying to do, and we put together a written proposal so you know the plan before work begins.
Will I be able to see what is happening on my project?
Yes. We run projects through a client portal with documented draws and photo-verified progress, so you can follow the schedule, the budget, and the work without chasing anyone for an update.
How do payments work?
Payments follow a draw schedule tied to the milestones in your agreement, handled through your project portal. You see what each draw covers before it is due, so there are no surprises.
How long will my project take?
It depends on the scope, the permits, and the site. Once we understand your project we give you a realistic schedule, and we keep you posted through your portal as the work moves.
Do you work on historic or older properties?
Yes. We work within historic-district requirements, including Certificate of Appropriateness reviews where they apply, and we plan for those long-lead approvals early so they do not stall your project.
Do you work with investors and partners?
We do. We handle investor rehab, build-to-rent, joint-venture development, and wholesale take-down, with the deal-level analysis and draw transparency that lets capital watch every dollar convert to value.
What areas of home services do you cover?
Skilled-trade repair, maintenance and punch-out, make-ready and unit turns, light remodels, warranty work, and emergency response.
How do I reach you?
Call 314.866.WORK (9675), email work@jastratton.com, or start with our project form. We answer straight.
